Description

With a three hinged deck suspended by ties from a light cable. The cable can be readily adjusted to give different values of dip over the 1m span. Cable tensions and support reactions are measured directly by spring balances at each tower and all cables run over ball bearing pulleys. The deck is arranged to move between upper and lower limit stops to facilitate setting-up and operation. The deck stiffening girder can be locked at the hinge so as to demonstrate a statically indeterminate structure. Loading can be by point, distributed and rolling loads. In addition the effects of loads upon the cantilevered approaches can be investigated.
